Fuzz Factory - secondary parameter control?

Haven't built a Fuzz Factory for a while, and was thinking of trying something a bit different on one.

I have the idea of wiring in a secondary control pot to one of the functions, activated by a footswitch - either latching or momentary. I can't decide which function would be the most useful one to apply it too though? I'm discounting volume, so that leaves: Stab, Comp, Drive and Gate.

My goal would probably be to have it make a good fuzz sound, and then gurgle and howl horribly at the press of a switch  ;D

Thoughts and suggestions?

I would like to try this mod.

I wonder how the Stab switch should be wired...

Any help would be welcome !

I haven't done it yet, but: use a DPDT switch, wire the two connections to the original pot to the respective poles. You then wire the top half of the switch to one pot and the bottom half to the second pot. If using a momentary switch you need to identify the normally connected side for pot 1. HTH.

You know, I started to sketch this out for you, then realized that you're essentially power cycling the pedal every time you switch from one Stab pot to another, they're in line with the +9V supply.  There might be an audible "pop" unless you bypass the pedal before you switch the Stab pot.  And if so, it might be just as easy to reach down and tweak the one Stab knob.  Or not, it never hurts to try.

Not sure you have to switch between two pots necessarily, you could have a fixed resistor (though a trimmer or pot would probably be better), switched in and out of parallel with the main Stab pot, with a NC momentary for example.  I don't know if that would pop or not, but surely not as bad as swiching between two rail supply points.

With the sort of horrendous noise that a fuzz factory can make, a switch pop is the least of anyone's worries...
