Ross Phaser - Tonepad Build - No Phasing

Hi All,

Hoping to get some guidance. Upon completing the Ross Phaser build, i tested it on the test rig, and was getting clean audio as output, no effected signal. Then i went into the troubleshooting process with checking the voltages on all my ICs. Have a strange situation, when i measure the voltage on pin3 of IC 1 (4558) i.e place my DMM red probe on pin 3, the signal is phasing as expected and as long as i keep my multimeter on pin 3, i can adjust the phase via the two potentiometers, the circuit is working. As soon as i take the multimeter probe off Pin 3, goes back to a clean signal.

Any ideas why this would be the case?

Hi All,

Got the circuit working intermittently after cleaning the solders with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush. The multimeter trick makes it work all the time so cant figure out why this is the case. Will keep troubleshooting, any advice would be greatly appreciated

welcome to the forum,

post schematic, pictures layouts etc. everything you can give us to help you.

maybe a bad solder joint? reflow the surrounding solder points and report back.
