Auto-recovery/decay circuit

This is a modification to the usual attack/recovery(decay) circuit used in lots of envelope functions.  The extra resistor and capacitor R3 and C2 provide a programme/content dependent recovery or decay time.  After a long period of sustained level, the circuit recovers slowly but if a short burst of audio is applied and then removed (even if on top of an existing sustained level), the circuit recovers more quickly.  The values shown can be played around with to get the range of effect necessary.  This may help to provide a more dynamic and responsive envelope function.

P.S. with the values shown you get an attack time set by R1.C1.

The minimum decay time is set by approx. C1.(R2//R3).

The maximum decay time is set by approx. (it's a more complicated but this'll do) (C1+C2).(R2+R3).

Be aware that the circuit will be affected by loading of any following stage, so you could lump any loading impedance in with the value of R2.

Sorry for the necro bump, but I was looking for a schematic or something else elaborating a bit more, but couldnt find It. Has anyone the schematic or file that was accompanying the post? Thanks a lot
