GPL compliance in China
« on: November 13, 2021, 07:18:27 PM »
I am almost sorry to post this. But not really. It is so eye-popping.

NOT SAFE FOR FAMILY VIEWING!

Naomi Wu, a geek in China, was asked about some GPL code modifications, apparently only available AT the office, if you asked in Chinese.

As you will see in the first minutes (seconds?), Ms Wu is not shy.

I found this on The Register and yes, someone there already asked if she solders in that outfit.

Even more eye-pop at the company office.

WTH is she using for a selfie-stick? I guess her "mangled" right hand hides the answer? She sure knows where to aim it.

I also strongly suggest her diatribe about power-drunk marketing teams causing hardware engineering disasters.

I just got an ear-scope/scraper by a similar or same deranged team. Couldn't find the right app in dozens of drivers, and bypassed so many security warnings that everything I see or hear probably goes right to Mao. In his grave.

I like her attitude.

She sure knows where to source Chinese "components" but if you measure them the DMM keeps pooping out on overload.

wow, indeed. is the chocolate cake GPL compliant? does she do cheesecake? it looks like the "programmers" have a real good grasp of the open source concept.

does she have a small personal drone she's controlling w/ a hand-held something, does she have a glass/transparent selfishstick, or has the stick been eradicated from each frame?

interested parties might like to check-out her 'technology of my boobs' video. I didn't watch it, but I'm sure it raises some interesting points. I don't think there is any nudity involved.

...someone there already asked if she solders in that outfit....

Here she solders pedal-size parts (a loudspeaker system).

However if you go to the start of that video, she mentions that she sometimes edits-away burns and scars from workshop accidents.

I had a look at a few reviews.  She seems pretty switched on to me.   When she speaks she's blunt and honest.   Kind of refreshing from the prolific insincere garbage on youtube.

Her old videos were shot in a very small space, sawing metal on a tiny balcony. Later videos are in a much larger more suitable space.

The Jul 24, 2019 video explains she was priced-out of her too-small space and had to fight to find a larger space without being robbed by landlords or harassed by zoning officials. (China's tax and policy is very different from here.)

In other news: after Naomi harassed UMIDIGI about GPL compliance, and they complied, they asked her to look at one of their products. She is also talking to Realme and Ulephone and two other companies about GPL.

She's got an air-hose in her garden!! See the reel? Later on she uses an air-wrench and an air-riveter.
