Dear Antonis,

Why do you expect the signal to be heavily clipped after the first IC ?

Dear Vivek,

Souldn't I expect such a thing..??
"I'm getting older while being taught all the time" Solon the Athenian..
"I don't mind  being taught all the time but I do mind a lot getting old" Antonis the Thessalonian..

It states :

It's a very well-designed circuit and does exactly what it says. It doesn't produce any distortion or clipping on its own, but can drive the input of an amplifier to great effect, and the limiter can deliver plenty of squish along with it.

If the vactrol isn't doing anything, it could well clip. A good thing is the sidechain can be faulty and you should still get a signal through. Signal tracing should provide vital clues.
