If anyone one is in the Bay Area, I've been running some pedal building workshops at Noisebridge in San Francisco. Noisebridge is a maker space in the mission district. It's totally free, though they encourage donations.

This event is a great starting place for beginners. Noisebridge has soldering irons, a drill press, and lots of parts, and it's all free, and doesn't even require a membership.

The next event is scheduled for March 4.

Folks at DIYAudio put their traditional Bay Area in-person talk-and-drink party on ZOOM for the lock-down, which worked "OK", and now mixed site and Zoom participation. They even got dozens of bucks, from me, twice, just to watch the chaos from across the continent.
