Good morning all, I built a GGG Easy Face and am having a problem. There is guitar signal in bypass but when clicked on the LED works but no guitar or fuzz.I am using an AC128 that was tested by the supplier($7!). Positive ground using a 9vt. battery. Here are some voltages with the trimpot at highest voltage:
Q2 AC128 C   3.75
         B   3.85
         E   3.69
Q1  3904 E   0
         B   3.62
         C   3.85
Thank you for for your time.

If I'm right, Q1 should be a p-n-p device (like 2N3906).. :icon_wink:

Also, your measurements should have a minus (-) sign..
"I'm getting older while being taught all the time" Solon the Athenian..
"I don't mind  being taught all the time but I do mind a lot getting old" Antonis the Thessalonian..

first thing is - post your circuit diagram. and layout diagram.
second thing is - where are the photos of your build?
third thing is - positive ground, black meter lead to ground, all voltages will read negative. if your posted readings don't show the minus, we start to wonder.
the circuit output is not the input. the reverse holds true for the circuit input.

You are correct  it is a 3906.
the R-9 jumper wire is underneath the board.
with the black probe to +9vt and ring I do get negative readings.

If the emitter of Q1 is indeed connected to ground, and ground is positive, it should not read 0 but rather 9 volts. Start there?

Edit: sorry, I am wrong of course. Negative probe is on ground..

black probe on board v
red probe on E of Q1 = -8.93

last night it was 0. I just noticed that I left out the 4.7k on the LED leg. Would that effect things?
Thanks again

Would make for too much current draw dropping the voltage and probably harm the LED I guess.

I gave up on the EasyFace and built the late 60's boutique. Works fine. Is there a way to add the easy face blend circuit to the 69?
