Phase 45 trouble

I've built a Phase 45, but it won't phase.  The signal path is OK and also the LFO works properly. I've matched the JFETS, but the gate bias is only 3.3 volts. This seems low! Shouldn't it be somewhere around 4.7 volts due to the zener?

I've heard that sometimes you have to play with the zener value a bit depending on your set of JFets.
MAybe there's something about it in the archives or at Tonepad's build reports.

I built 3 of these.  The first one I built worked fine.  The second two did not work for me, same thing, no phasing.   I just forgot about about them and moved on.......
