Got a condenser Mic element that has 3 leads
 1 shield
 2 red
 3 white
I tried following the diagram on the back, built a little ckt. but  getting no output.
Someone know how to wire up THis one?
 Feeling a little dohhh...need help...
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

condenser mics need external power to work - you got the schem right for supplying power and extracting sound?
3 leads sounds like a balanced element: red will be signal+, white signal- and the sleeve is ground. Power should then be connected to the + and - leads - I *think*. There's a lot of different types on the market.
Do you have the diagram for the circuit you wired up, plus the diagram on the back of the mic for us?

In my experience, three-lead electrets just have a separate wire for the inbuilt pre-amp power supply, and audio out. In two-lead elements, these have a common wire, with the DC prevented from entering the amp by an external capacitor.

I would cautiously try screen to ground, red to +1.5V DC via a 1.5k resistor, and white to amplifier via a capacitor.
