how about this?...I was looking inside my Boss dd3 delay to increase the headroom a little ( the echoes distort when using boost ), and realised that it would be easy to also turn it into a clean boost....basicly there is a simple mixer for the clean and the delayed signal, and if i just decrease the value for the resistor in the direct line, I'll have a boost... it's R-13...33kOhm followed by an op with 47k in the feedbackloop . I can even make it switchable by using that stereo out jack that I never use anyway, and switch in or out another 3k3 resistor parrallell to R13 and have a ( roughly )20dB boost  :D
...and what about the headroom I hear you say....I just added a 10k resistor between pin 3 on IC-1 and the junction of R37 and R38 and that gave me around 3 more dB's headroom before the echoes start to distort...

ps. I have a really bad, faxed twice, copy of the schematic...no link..sorry
