i know this is very elementary, but i seem to have missed it.. apologies..

all effects circuits have an in and an out.. which lugs do these go on on the jacks? 'in' and 'out' to the rings and attach a ground from the 'in' tip to the 'out' tip? is that why i'm not hearing anythnig? :)

(got a dead decca dmi-62 amp if anyone wants it for parts..)

The tip of your jack is where the signal goes. The ring is the ground. Connect your ground to the ring lugs.
The in of your FX board connects to the tip of the input jack. Likewise, the output of your board connects to the tip of your output jack :)
