What caps do i order?
« on: November 20, 2003, 01:28:54 AM »
I should be able to figure this out, but I wanna be sure. What capacitors do i order from small bear? According to the project scematic (including the additional range control) I need the following:

electrolytic capacitor 22uF
electrolytic capacitor 10uF
electrolytic capacitor 47uF
film capacitor .68uF
film capacitor 1uF
film capacitor .1uF

The capacitors at small bear all have capacitances measured in mF or pF. Does uF mean mF, I thought it did, but there's no .68 mF caps on the order form, there are however 68pF. and what about voltage? 630V 250V 50V?

The electrolytic's seem more straight forward once i know what the mF means and what V to order.

Thanks for the help, i can't wait to build this thing.

uF stands for mircoFarad. so I guess mF is the same... I don't really worry about voltage, but I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

That's what I thought. So which caps did you order? There is no .68 film cap listed.

Thanks for the quick response.

mF is uF. You can choose anything close to .68uF like .47uF etc... The range control will still work with probably more range.

I got a metal film cap @ .68uF...
