I was playing some guitar to a friend I haven't played with in about 6 months, and he was totally knocked out by some of the sounds I was getting from it.

Those sounds were all thanks to builds and mods courtesy of this forum.

So on behalf of begginers (if i may be so bold) I would like to say a big thanks to all those with much knowledge who scour these forums to give us great advice!

THANKS, Chris

I second that.  The folks on this forum have been so gracious and helpful.  I honestly thought that I would never be able to build my own stompboxes, but the folks here have helped me do just that.  Because of these folks I have also learned that I really enjoy electronics and that it is something that I am actually somewhat good at(somewhat being the operative term   )

Thanks all

Absolutely. This is one forum that has shown patience and a genuine desire to help out when projects go haywire. Thanks to all for lending a helping hand.

I agree. I'm sortof getting the hang of it, I'm learning ever faster as I advance in my knoledge and understanding. Thank god for people like the ones here on aron's stompbox forum!

But I could still kick myself for ever asking what a cap does, and smile whenever I see someone ask the same question, cos I get reminded of myself. Maybe that's what keeps people friendly over here  :)
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

I 4th that..If not for these postinging and those who apply, id be more clueless--lost in the dark--playing guitar, watching the tv, too much beer, ect...now im a pedal addict!! much better!!!

Ok, this thread is getting a little indulgent but I'm not gonna be making apologies...

I'm with all of the above - this forum is great. And really friendly, I was a little overawed by some of the level of discussion when I first got here but I always got really helpful replies when I asked how to wire a stompswitch (among other things).

Like I said, I'm really grateful for all the help you guys have given but I just want to thank Peter Snowberg in particular. He's always  replied to my mindnumbingly simple Qs.

Cheers mate.  :)

Some day all too soon, all the geezers here, myself included, are going to be more concerned with their prostates than their PRS's, and more preoccupied with their HMO than with their SHO (or LFO).  When that happens, it will be you folks that are going to have to carry the load.  AND, when it is your turn to carry the load, helping others will have to come as natural to you as breathing.  Looks like the master plan is working.

I agree too. All that I know I learned here, this forum is very cool and useful.

Whenever I tell people about y new hobby I always mention this place and say the following:

"It's amazing, I was having trouble with a delay pedal I was building, and withing four hours of posting the guy who designed the pedal answered all my questions."

Thanks Scott Schwartz, thanks Mark Hammer, thanks Joe Davisson, and on and on. This place is super great, and I feel bad that I've done nothing to repay Aron, for providing this resource, or any of the tremendously kind and helpful people who frequent here.

I just wanted to know how to put a LED in my RAT pedal and ended up building a tremolo and an octave fuzz from scratch, and with more pedals in mind!  I have learnt so much so quickly that I just have to express my respect and appreciation for all the solder sniffing circuit guru noise making angels that guide us here! Thank You :D

I think the best way to repay is to help the next people who come along. I'm sure the olde tymers get weary of answering the same questions over and over again, so if ya know the answer, post it.

Believe me, it's a very nice feeling to have helped someone on here. And I figure that for all of the people who post their troubles and get help (as I have done), there must be more who only lurk who use that information.

Well, I try, but I'm always afraid I'll give the wrong answer! I get bolder and bolder (and probably wronger and wronger!) as times goes on ;)

One thing anybody can do that I'm sure Aron would like would be to go to the home page here and click on the PayPal Donate button  . Send him an hour or two of your paycheck if you can. He does pay for the hosting out of his pocket I'm sure.
