Maneco

Hi,
there`s something new on my page

Maneco

sfr

god, at first i thought getting the DIY stompbox bug was a bad idea because I was spending way too much time and money on parts for pedals.  (and patch cables!!) But I figured it was all good.  But now I know the real problem is cruising these forums exposes me to all these really cool pedals i wouldn't ever know about otherwise, and as soon as I ever get any money it will soon be parted.  One more thing to add to the "when my tax return comes and if my car doesn't need too many parts to fix" list of things to buy.

Seriously, the Maneco stuff is amazing.  You rock.

P.S. - what are you using for enclosures there?  Is that steel stud, or some sort of custum extrusion or what?  Looks great.

I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

They Do Look Marvelous !!! :D
I thought a 'loop' was like a switched connections and a bunch of jacks in a box !!!
IF one Had the dough for one of those, it sure would save ALOT of Time And Tweeky Troubles attempting to 'mimic?' it...Like I would ever be able to...very impressive IMO bang for buk-wise and I 'Never' say that about products that Look so Marvelous !!!
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Dear friends,
thanks for your kind feedback, regarding the question of enclosures,i buid them with fibber glass boards, then fill the corners,sand,paint,lettering...lot of work for a one man enterprise...

Thanks!!!!!

Ya know, you can get boxes with wood finished sides like that for maybe $40 from Mouser.  They're sloped.

i've got one of those (a ManecoLooper UNIKA - custom job w/ loads of knobs/switches - and big and raunchy like the ELITE).
and i must say that Juan/Maneco is a pleasure to deal with. great guy and honest.
the build quality is excellent too. nice and clean.

The soundclips of the band are excellent.
They're  a little reminiscent of the Catherine Wheel/Stone Roses/My Bloody Valentine style that I like so much.
I'm a big fan of that style of music (what its critics used to call "shoegazer" music).
I like the textured layering of your guitar playing. I like how you vary the volume levels within the songs...your dynamic playing creates a brooding, melancholy feeling which when done well (like you have done) creates a powerful sense of sadness that I really love. You use your gear in the best way possible...fitting it within the songs themselves and not just simply showcasing an effect.

It's raining right now in FL. I think I'll make some coffee, smoke a cigarette and  listen to a Talk, Talk cd.

Dear CSJ,
that's one of the best feedback i've had for my music... what's incredible is that i had not listened to My bloody Valentine since 1996,and a few weeks ago i came across "loveless" in a box at my ex wife's...i took it home, and enjoyed that incredible using of reverse reverb, noisy samplers and voice...i brough home also my old Cocteau Twins collection, and i must say here,in public, that i became a guitar player (sort of) when i discovered that the sound in their records was Robin Guthrie's guitar soundscapes...building stompboxes was the next step...my first one was a phaser from a brazilian magazine, and the second was a tda1022 flanger from ETI magazine,in 1993...the delay and looping stuff came later, when i bought a book from RA Penfold in 1994 in Montevideo, called "digital audio projects"it was based in 8 bit delay lines, and i'm still based on those ideas...

thanks a million...

it's my life...
