T Shirt transfer - Who do I thank for this?

As an addendum to this...

NEVER EVER EVER flip these things on their face when they're still hot from the toaster/lights/etc...  the transfers get re-heated, and will COME OFF.

Yes, I'm now back to a bare aluminum box.. after the 3rd clear coat, I screwed it up...  trying again now.

Damn, Mark! That sucks!

I had to strip a box once and it was very difficult. If there is a next time, I guess reheating it is the trick.

I messed up the first one I did by ironing to long. The transfer sort of smeared. You certainly find out how well this stuff sticks when you do something like that. I thought I'd never get it all off so I could start over.

Got some Transfer sheets from Comp Usa...
 Trying to work out a graphics design...
 I tried a few things, and found it difficult to get it to fit to pagem much less do more than one box on one sheet.>[at the same time I assume?]
 What kinda graphics program are you guys runnin' here...,,,[lol]
 No, really, I'm not the puter graphics wizard...just getting started I guess.
 Tried Accessories> Paint etc. and imported pics from nebula etc. but print preview showed a small portion of the page being used. Psychadelic background across the page would be cool to try...
 Anyway is this transfer paper like magic..ie when I tried a print, the brigtness, resolution etc weren't all that stunning...on printing paper.
 I think I got everything else...

I set my printer to photo paper mode. That way it gives the colors better saturation.

Also, I usually have the artwork at a high resolution. 300 or 600 dpi. Then I resize to final size with NO resampling.

 I don't know if this paint progrom or any of the other [I tried word and I think another] must put 'sizing' where I'm not looking...all day.
 Well first thing I gotta do is get the printer to uh print again...lol
 I really don't want to use 1 sheet per box cause I can't resize..

The colors get MUCH richer when you clear coat it.

At least mine did.

I've been working pretty solid on this for like all day, including the trip.
 I've learned alot about how to do certain things on the computer, and that so far, IMO Paint blows...whatever...it's program XP.
 In Five different titles in help, I found the exact same page, which when boiled down sezz: your pidture will most likely either be chopped and cropped or a tiny little thing in the middle of the page...lol.
 I should'da known sooner...I used the Kodak EZ share software, and in less than ten minutes had two side by side images printing for photo paper, best quality etc.
 So I iron's on my first one. I had no troubles. I did a half sheet first< WOW Stunning Image, much brighter than on paper...So I Irons on the other one...doing a little more like they say sided to side motion with pressure [I worry for smears], and the resolution on that one is clearly better, as it gets final flattening from the Iron surface...the other one's 'fine' looks good but not as sharp. It also is less flat to look at and touch.
 After reading through the well written directions a couple of times it seemed pretty simple ... the Ironing part ...
 The 'getting the image you want' to print whole, centered, or any other crucial or more advanced functions  is the hard part till I figured it out...
 The art program lost it's colors in colors mode too..lol...I restarted and am about to see if it's seeing in color again

with the t-shirt material, I used the same trick I do when printing pcbs...

I printed out the design to size on regular paper, right in the middle.
Then, I cut a piece of the t-shirt transfer paper to size (about 1/4 of the sheet) and tape it over the spot where the design is printed...
Then, run it back through the printer..

Voila!

MarkB, what kind of clear coat did you use... everyone i have tried starts to chip after a while... it is pretty frustrating.

just using Krylon spray urethane stuff...
it's probably not the best, but I'm not gigging with these pedals, so..
