What is the best adhesive

I need to bond some metal parts to an aluminum enclosure.

More specifically, I need to attach a few hex nuts to the inside surface of one of my effects boxes to support standoffs.

I have tried this stuff called Welder's Glue.  It did not "weld" very well.  After letting the glue set up for a day, the torque of the corresponding screw twisted the nut right off the enclosure.

I tried superglue.  The only thing that crap sticks to is my fingers

Any suggestions for a strong glue that can will fit this application?

Thanks in advance.

Try 2-component glue, it's got two tubes and looks like a dual syringe. It sticks like mad :D And not just to your fingers, but also to the wall, the carpet, your brand-new sofa, your TV, your soldering iron, everything ;)
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

Try JB Weld.  You should be able to find it at just about any hardware store.  Also, try roughing up the metal (inside the box) before putting the adhesive down.  This will give the metal something to bond to.

What smoguzbenjamin is talking about is, I think epoxy.

Yeah, the two-part epoxy stuff is badass.  I've got a tube that claims it can hold 2000lbs (the kind that sets up in hours).  You can also get some 5-min epoxy that would probably be more suitable to this application.

2-part epoxy, damn that's the word. In holland we call it 'two-component glue' so I didn't know the work in English

I've used both 2-part epoxy as well as JB Weld, both seem to work pretty well. As mentioned, scuff the surfaces, and CLEAN them. Grease and oil can make the bond fail.

JB Weld should work fine for you.

Adhesive?  Two part epoxy - marketed as "Araldite" here in the UK - absolutely *rocks*!

As my uncle said..."It'd stick your granny up a tree"......my uncle is filled with random quotes such as this...."mad as a box of frogs" being another

Believe it or not [I wouldn't, but I was there and did it]
JB Weld can 'glue' your ENGINE Block back together after a freeze/no antifreeze...if it can withstand the fantastic forces of expanding and contracting metal...WOW !!!
Out patch of JB was on a Chevy 350 in a Suburban, it held till the vehicle got sold...over a year...often starting at below zero temps...probably more than you need, but should do the trick...the cleanness and ruffedupness of the surface epoxies adhere to makes all te difference..I like to ruff with sandpaper and clean with fingerpolish remover and papertowel.

Thanks everyone.

I picked up some 2 part epoxy at the hardware store and will give that a try first.

It's probably worth noting that slow-cure (12 hour) epoxy seems to be less "brittle" than the five minute stuff.....if you can wait that long. Also, we used to use stuff where I work called "Black Max" for gluing aluminum. It's a special superglue that has black rubber particles in it as a filler.
More dynamics????? I'm playing as loud as I can!

Aren't most Germanic languages also agglutinative? For instance, in German, you just keep slapping words together? I think the same is true of Icelandic (which is basically just old Norse, and very closely related to old English).

Interesting point - Finnish is NOT a Germanic language (Finno-Uguric group), but it is said to have this same characteristic. Does anyone know if the word-linking process is the same, or different?
