my colorosund wah reissue makes a POP when i turn it on. it is obviouslly a lot louder when i'm using it in front of distortion pedals which i have been doing a lot latelly. its quite annoying and it ALWAYS does it. i can't remember if it always did that or not because i wne ta long time without using it much at all.

any sugestions on how to fix that?

1)are there pull-down resistors on in- and output? (if the're's no resitor to ground that's *not* isolated from the in-or output by a cap - install them. 1M will do nicely)
2) Are the isoltaion caps leaky? Replace them to be sure. Pops are mostly caused by a DC offset, which occurs when caps leak and there are no pulldown resistors.
3) is the switch (still) good quality? as a last resort, replace the switch.

DO make sure it's the wah first - I've fooled around with a pedal for some time until I realised it was the booster in front of it that introduced a DC-offset.

test it alone with the amp.

if it pops that way, i'll be surprised.  both the input and output caps of a colorsound wah are small values and dry, solid material construction...

if it pops that way, check the output cap.

otherwise, suspect the other gear in your chain.

it does happen when i use the wah alone. i don't actually have much in the way of a gear chain. i only have 5 pedals and i rarelly use more than 2 at a time. (i have a feeling that will change if i keep hanging around in here)

when the only thing i have between my amp and my guitar is my wah i hear it. i'll take it look at it 2moro. replacing the isolation caps and adding (if needed) pull down resistors is no problem. i'll just have to find them inside the pedal. i have never really worked on pedals other than changing wah pots. i wish  i had a schematic for it so i would know if u are taling about r4 or c3 or....well u kow what i mean.

it may have been doing this all the time but i just started using other pedals with it in the past few monthes. i always hated pedals until recentlly so even though i studied  electronics i don't really know jack about pedals.

Im saying thanks and reporting that the DIST+ is a Totally [99.2%] silent switcher. When it's by itself.
I'm not kwite sure I follow DC offset...
:!: Oh that would be say the output cap of the booster before...then when the switch goes > in the next pedal connecting that cap...[say no pulldowns or leaky cap...] pop
I'm not going to erase that, typing helps me think too sometimes.
I guess it gets me to thinking along the lines of what your'e thinking... :)
