Ah, well, no ... I contacted Altronics and suggested they carry a 3PDT a couple of months back and got a free sample of the switch to try out then .... there is a thread on here a while back about it.

.... even if it means waiting 10 days to get them? For me personally I'd rather buy them at the last possible minute before installation, and support a local supplier - of course a lot of the money does go out of the country (to the switch manufacturer) but some won't.

As regards reliability, I've been told by the Altronics parts guy they chose these switches in part because the plunger/switch mechanism is metal, not plastic. My pessissmistic view is that any stompswitch that lasts longer than a year or two when gigged is doing well anyway.

My first thought was that maybe I blew some money buying a bunch of 3PDTs just the other day from Aron (who offers great service, great price).  But the Altronics fine print says; "Stock Due Approximately: 15/5/2004" and the price ($7.50 ea).  So, for the moment, the small price difference is academic.

Fortunately, at the 10+ price ($7.00) Altronics will eventually save a few $$$ for us keen/obsessed/commercial pedal builders.

Altronics - or at least Aztronics here in Adelaide have them (or can get them in from Perth).

edit: oops, I didn't see the fine print on the website, didn't realise they would still be two months.

Hammond 150BB 119 x 94 x 30mm

Jaycars equiv. 119 x 93.5 x 34mm

The screws are a bit hokey, but they work well otherwise.  I fit a BassBalls with battery in one.
