Anyone know of any good websites to find easy to understand explanations of how effects work, and what each part does?

for example:
Capacitors do what?
Resistors do what?
etc., of course, I'm looking for the explanation of what they do in relation to effect circuits.

Thanks.

Hello tele_guitarist ,
First of all there are many DIY site in aron's links page... truely a a tremendous amount of resources. there are GREAT site about electronics and electricity in general, many of them with basic tutorials and projects to learn from.

So just use search engines to find what you are after (I personaly favor Google)

Geofex is an amazing resource for information. Go to //www.generalguitargadgets.com, look under articles and look for Richardo X's "cook your own distortion". I've found that an amazingly helpful article ;)
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.
