Gyratone Booster Build Report

A little while ago there was some speculation about this booster, found here: http://analogalchemy.com/pedals/gyratone.gif

I built it tonight and, while it works, I'm not blown away. It seems to pretty much just be a clean booster. The blend control doesn't seem to do much beyond boosing the volume a bit towards the left (0.22uF cap) side. I didn't notice any frequency selection in the boost, frankly I was expecting bass boost in one direction, treble boost in the other. I hope I'm not missing something.

Has anyone else built it with different results?

I've breadboarded it and experienced identical results.  I had the same expectations about the blend control, too.
