The thing that always makes me cringe in songs is a whiny singer's voice whining about what usually amounts to nothing at all. It’s all right (in my book) to whine about something substantial.

There's still a few good DJ's around, even some great ones.
We used to get Akron and Cleveland stations that we're really cool.
WMMS ...used to be super ground breaker with stoned DJ'x playing Hendrix, Trower..actually quuite a wide variety of rock, folk rock etc. and had quite the influence around here, a staple was the Buzzard Emblem...basically if you liked the Buzzard you we're cool.
There are two stations I can listen to and find interesting new stuff, besides those two, the rest is commercialized beyond belief, like the singer that's claims  to be Bluer than Blue, so I listen to classical...listening for the fantastically interesting movements that sometimes occur, like any other genre there's the truly inspired work of a master player or near novice, and the stuff that sounds like a re-arranged music lesson book or two.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I can't quite remember what they sound like, but I do remember listening to the album with their version of King Kong quite a bit back in the mid 70's. That was back in the day I would buy any album with Roger Dean art on the cover. That's how I ended up with assorted Uriah Heep and Budgie albums. Another great antidote to the brain atrophy commercial radio is known to induce, is the collected works of Conlon Noncarrow. Be careful though - too much and your head might explode like in the movie "Scanners".

Anything brought forward by DJ`s.They call what they do music.I disagree it is.In my opinion it doesn`t even come close.Don`t know what to call it though.

Along those lines Harry Partch..and the godfather of experimental guitar, Derek Bailey.

This last weekend, we had a bit of a cheap 60s/70s movie fest at our house.  While there are tons of songs (and movies) that are just bad, few actually carry that cringe factor with me. I was reminded of a song (and movie) that makes me cringe. "One Tin Soldier" from Billy Jack.
