My soldering iron just died so Im thinking of a general purpose temp controlled soldering station. Damn I wish I was in the US (£27 for the station being raved over in another thread :( )

Can any UK members recommend a station from a UK supplier (not too expensive ie around £40).

Currently Maplons (bless their dumb little brains) are doing a temperature controlled soldering 'station' for 29 or 39 quid (I can't remember which price is right).

Cheers Rob ... actually found one for £25 inc P&P on "special" at a kids electronics site, this one has been recommended by three other people so I'll get it. Just in case anyone else is in the market ...

Hi,
B also sure to get the bronze or whatever its made of thingy like the 460 TIP CLEANER & STAND from http://xytronic.com/pi/accessories.htm . It's a lot [and I mean a lot mate] better than the damp sponge.
DIY XOR die.
