Would these trafos (distributed by Digi-Key) do exactly the same thing if you just wired them in reverse?

Depending on the size, in single quantities they're between ~$10 and ~$30 each.

any transformer can be wired in reverse...  :wink:

Then, how important is the current rating for the transformer secondary, compared to the wallwart's current output? Do they need to be the same?

err..., a very complicated matter, to get where the E-H trafo`s are now...
