I might be wrong, but what it seems to say is that it's just a booster with a middy tone with no distortion involved. My TS-9 distorted. My SD-1/808 distorts. Seems to bait(w/the TS name) & switch(just a booster).

Just an opinion

He makes it clear to get tube tones to run this into a tube amp. Very deceptive.

QuoteIt's not a distortion- but a smooth and very hot boost for overdriving your amp

We saw a very similar item a few weeks ago without the Tube Screamer name, and there was a picture of the board. It's just a simple transistor clean boost (FET-based I think) mounted on a push-pull pot. Actually, he's selling the boost for $35 or so, so this might be more, but just from a first glance, this doesn't look like an Ibanez Tube Screamer.

I haven't tried it, so perhaps it's a great thing, but personally, I'd avoid it -you'll need to keep a battery inside your guitar, and if you want a tube screamer you can build a real one for less than that in parts, mounted in a Hammond enclosure with film caps, metal film resistors, and an op-amp to suit your taste, not all that SMT stuff.

Again, not to libel the seller, but from what I can tell he's using the TS name to turn a bigger profit, and IMO you'd be better off building one in pedal form.
