How different are TS808 and TS9 tonally? Any opinions?

Recently I compared my buildyourownclone`s TS808 with original Ibanez ones(a new TS9 and the 80`s TS808).The old 808 was very thin and had quite muffled high end, maybe it was a bit out of order, though. The new TS9 was very similar to BYOC ,but had more that nice high end sparkle. Unfortunately there weren`t anymore Screamers around to test.

So would those 2 bigger value output  resistors for TS9 open up the high end? Just curious to know before I`ll start to tweak my pedal.

 Thanks!

Check the links, I believe there are LOTS of TS mods.
Then try Z.W. Signature Pedal on vero, I perfed mine.

hmmmm a lot of people like that the ts808 has less highs ... I have a re-issue TS808 and it sound good but I still did a quick mod. I replaced the electro 1uf caps with panasonic Metal Film 1uf and it fattened it up a bit .... and of course a on/off LED :)

I compared my modded TS808 with a friend's TS9 ( modded, Silver Mod by AnalogMan ) and they sounded very very close! ... The TS9 had more gain at lower setting though but they were pretty much on par with the gain turned up all the way.

The TS9 is know to bit a bit harsh ....
