EXCELENT build- super fast and easy, sounds great!

I had to sub 3.3uf for the 1uf cap just before the BASS pot, but it still sounds great. I doubt I'll change it.

Now my bass player wants one- any suggestions for gearing it towards a bass rig?

thanks!

Larger input-output-bypass capacitors. Also, the signal is way hotter than that of a guitar. Increasing input signal before clipping figure would be appropriate too. :)

Let him try yours first. After a quick look at the schematic, I think it will work well with bass.

Change the input follower so it has a bias voltage on the gate instead of going to ground.  You'll have to add a DC blocking cap before it, and a bleeder resistor.  This will up the headroom of the follower allowing it to take hotter signals (like active bass pups).  Better yet change it to a BJT instead of an FET.  It will source a little better into the 10k volume pot giving a hotter signal.

Also try an output buffer to lower the imp.
