would pulling the sweep pot of a wah, and replacing it with resistors make big pops when used?
 heres the whacky idea...
put resistors ranging say from 1k to 100k across where a wah pot would be connected, then have a contact that touches the higher values 'stepped style', moving the sweep up and down in small incrament, as opposed to the R smooth ramp up that a pot does.
Just a though to eliminate the trreadle and still get wah, might be an interesting sound with the Q moving in incraments, I'm just wondering if anyone has clues as to how much 'popping' this method would illicit.
As you may have noticed, I like thinking of 'alternative electro-mechanical circuit solutions'.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
