This.
With apologies to Roxy Music, MORE than this! I want a layout/board and code (reasonably compensated, natch)! But gutshots will do for now.

Rotary switch is a 3-pole in stead of a 6-pole.
The vent holes could have been drilled better, but I have no drillpress so...

I figured you all would :P They're a little embarrassing as all three builds have the same problems: swapped two pins on an op-amp and had to run wires, ordered the wrong crystals and had to use a through-hole crystal soldered on top of the pads. I'll get them tonight after work though, I promise ;D

I'm planning to re-spin these boards to fix the mistakes I made, after which I would be happy to distribute boards (with an option of included pre-flashed EEPROMs) to the SMD adventurous, as these are all SMD ;D

Like your style. Love the side tabs folded in and used a screw hold.

Thanks for sharing.

Mmkay, got some gutshots. You'll have to excuse the flux blobs here and there, those were things that were soldered after the board was cleaned :P Also excuse the through-hole clock crystal, the wires jumping the pins of an op-amp, and the scattered serial pins on the Echosaurus. I did that layout first before I decided to add serial programming headers, and I didn't feel like moving everything around to add them afterward, so I just put them where I could with the least amount of effort.

I wish we'd never insisted.  Those innards look great.   8)   Even the "please excuse the..." hacks look good.

Next time, can you photoshop your builds so they look a bit more, um, "mortal"??  Please?  ???                                         ;D

Man, that makes me want to get into FV-1 and SMD.
I've been slowly looking into it, thinking about tape delays, trying not to get too sucked in.
That's awesome work.
Can't wait for the clips on your page!

SMD is pretty great. I feel like SMD layouts are easier than through-hole layouts. I use 0805 passives for all my builds which I feel like are the smallest I can hand-solder and still have a good time :P Also I would highly recommend the FV-1 to anyone and everyone. I got into it because I was getting frustrated with my 6-year search for the perfect delay, and I love everything about it ;D

Oh and I recorded a nice sloppy demo of the delay last night, I'm going to edit it and have it up hopefully tonight :)

My 2nd build "Mr. Natural", a Germanium overdrive :)

The guts are messy I know! it's only my 2nd build, still getting wire lengths down. I've already been scolded in a previous post so save your criticisms!  ;D
