Those knobs are great. You should match some paint to the green part of the knob and fill some parts of the etch. Like, make her bathing suit green to make the pedal more... uniform? complete? whole?

Regardless, that pedal is rockin'.

GREEN FUZ

Nice suggestion. I might do that.

It's named after John Frusciante's new solo album. To which he has been listening the last 10 days.  :icon_biggrin:

Oh and:

More in the A pedals topic.

You squeezed it into a 1590A - you insane fool!  :icon_mrgreen:

Well this... this is just silly... this can't fit in a 1590B... can it? And you're not even using SMD you mad man!

Thanks Rick!

I hate painting/finishing pedals. I drill and prep 3 enclosures at a time usually. That way I can prime and clear coat them all at the same time. Then after the finishing process is done I can be kept busy wiring up a few pedals.

Never heard of UltraVox the band. Maybe that is a good thing?

Where you referring to The Empyrean? I always list what I was listening to the the time of completion. The Empyrean is John Frusciante's new solo album, it is so amazing. It is such an experience!

Vishay/Philips (mkt368). I think these are considered today's tropical fish caps. also available in mustard color (non metallized; kt347 ).

kurtlives

They are Phillips MKT caps. I really like them, I use them a lot.

Hm... I'm having a hard time finding them. Are they still being sold?

kurtlives

No idea sorry...
I got a my few thousand from my school.

I think they are more readily available in Europe. Haven't seen too many North American builders use them.

Another addition to the recent renaissance in etched enclosures. Not as clean as some, but frankly, I`m happy. After the amount of grief I`ve endured with this build, it`s finally finished. I initially attempted a reverse etch but after botching that I sanded it all back and started again.
(Insanekane, you seem to have some success with reverse etching. Any advice?)

The text is barely legible in places but at least I know what the controls do.

Great Tremolo BTW. Every home should have one.

where did u get that graphic or did u draw it because i love it

It really is one of the nicest enclosures I have seen in a long time. Very nice.
Is it possible for you to send me the graph? I would be very thankfull.

No problem, just pm me your email address.

Thanks for any and all compliments. As ever, it is thanks to the contributions of past and present members that I owe any amount of success.

So here is my latest build (only my 2nd).

I'd like to just thank everyone for the thorough tutorials available on the website! This was my first etch, and because of all the discussion on the forum, I was able to keep mistakes to a minimum. As you'll see, this was also the first time I've drilled component holes on my own (all over the shop), but I'd say I'm about 80% happy with this. I still have to wire the sucker (need new solder and cutters), but most manual part of this pedal is done. Enjoy!

Fullbody-shot so you can see my shocking layout.  :icon_eek:

Detail shot of the etch. I'm surprised this came out as good as it did!

That's a great looking first etch!  8)
