Great design! What do you use to protect the decals on the knobs? Clear coat?

Thanks!

Yes, clear coat. (It's not decals though, but diy dry transfers.)

D'Astro, those stout chicken head knobs look good, usually I hate those things but they looks so much more stylish when they're all pug-nosed like that

Cheers gary. Yeah i pondered various knobs. But in the end i went with these cheapo push ons...i got cream and black ones off ebay...so cheap i thought they may come in handy one day...nice visually for setting too... 8)

Picked up a spade in a sale on new years eve. Put 3 strings on it yesterday.

Used the pickup cutout as a floating bridge. Pickup from China, tuners the same. Expected stainless steel to sound bright but this thing is warm and mellow :)
No volume or tone - they're not needed. Should take the sharp edge off the bottom but figured I could ram it into the ground and save money on a stand

This is embarrassing. I have less that an hours experience with fret less anything. Rubbish recording too on my iPad.

dammit, kaycee, I wanted to say that. I'm even holding my coat, ready.
You hold the small basket while I strain the gnat.

Nicely done Kevin! As someone who has played fretless instruments for many years now, let me just say, it really doesn't take long until you're 99% happy with your intonation. You'll pick it up quicker than you might think you would. But that last 1%... ay caramba

My home-grown collection has certainly, eh, grown. These are my most recent (and prettiest) additions since you lot corrupted me with your affliction. Thanks!

Thanks Gary. Yes, I'm surprising myself at the moment though I've got a very long way to go. Interestingly, I'm finding many of those elusive notes from old blues songs that I could never quite get. Clearly, those guys hadn't found the 1% either ;)

Technical difficulties.  Please stand by.

thermionix

Just finished my second "script" Phase 90 clone on the GGG board.  This one's a payin' gig, so that's nice.  The minty one on the right is the customer's, the "relic" on the left is mine.

diydave

A germanium rangemaster with a small mod.

AC116 transistor, and a "smooth"-knob which is a 50k pot in serie with the input off the rangemaster.
Helps tuning in on a good tone.

temol

Next jfet 5150 preamp. This time with a cabsim and headphones amp.
