Marty, you are most definitely a pedal monger!! What a great selection of builds, and all top notch too!

I'm looking to get back into pedal making after being away for a while with some personal problems. Will be nice to get into making some pedals. If I can tear myself away from the cricket!!!!!

Quote from: bluesdevilDamned good job with the junction boxes, Mojotron!!  I've been wanting to try 'em out to save a few bucks here and there... I think those shots really convinced me to go ahead.

Thanks, when I started doing these I initially wanted to spend more on parts (and not on Al enclosures); I want to build at least one of everything.. so I've ended up just putting things in Hammond boxes for customers and using the electrical boxes for my own paint/unibit experiments. But, now I like working with electrical boxes so much more than regular enclosures.

corbs and Paul Marossy in another thread had the idea to also do something like what I did with the steel tops, but put them on a set of rails - so you wouldn't have the restriction of the Junction box under it... So that's the next step for me with this.

These are steel junction boxes. The bottom is coated inside and out with truck spray-on bed-liner and the tops are painted with the same stuff everyone uses on normal enclosures.

The bed-liner insulates the inside and protects the outside. The each top is a different experiment using painting ideas/tips I got from this forum. I have kind-of standardized on a couple of practices:

- use good self-etching primer
- use very few coats of paint (1-2)
- use many very light coats of clear coats (3-4)
- cover everything with a really heavy coat of Future floor wax (1-2 coats)

mojo doesnt use the white things.  :-D

Well,   if I screwed up the hole -making it too big - and didn't want to spend the time to drill out another steel top - I then used those huge washers.

A fat washer will cover a multitude of sins  :D

hi peter (FE)

wow, nice pedals!

were do you buy the enclouser of the looper BUFFY? i search them a long time ago...

i see, that you make the switches with relays. do you have a "secret", that the relays doesn`t make a "klick"?

thanks,
kusi (happy Tube-tank-user :D )

ps: say a nice greeting to lena   i bought my TT by her by ebay germany!

hi Kusi!
those boxes like I used for Buffy you can buy at www.elfa.se
Check out the Reichelt also, i've seen a components to build those boxes there (2xDPL + 2xKOH). Not exactly the same, but the idea is similar.
Yeah, the clicks&pops from relays can be PITA.. ;) Most of my switching devices are controlled by Atmel uCs, so i can precisely set the timing of the switching procedure, for example:
All outs Muted
wait some ms
do the switching
wait some ms
all outs Mute off
As muting elements some FETs, or optoFets can be used. I use mostly H11Fx series opto-fets.
I hope You like the TubeTank :) I've got some ideas for new versions of that pedal...
Thanks for the greets for Lena, she will get them fast! :)
Regards!
Peter
