Tolex?  Looks great.

mills

Thanks.  Yeah, its tolex... I'm not sure if its going to hold up to much abuse, but I've got a couple boxes on the go that are tolex'd and I think they look pretty nice.

station

Nice! I did my Silvertone rehouse in that same tolex. I love the look!

New Tremolo:
Its an EA. I'm pleased with how the graphics turned out. It's my second decal. I mostly do etching, but the wave graphic needed more nuanced treatment, so I went for the decal. Also I did a few mods if anyone's curious:
1) added an input volume (and eliminated the output volume). I did this by changing the 1Meg resistor off the gate of the BS170 into a 1Meg pot. I connected lug 3 to the gate, lug 2 to the .1 input cap, and lug 1 to the trimmer+ the 47uf cap.
2) 500k (B) depth pot with a 68k resistor across lugs 1 and 2. This evens out most of the choppiness, but allows you to get there at the end of the pot's travel.

Love that wave pic.  8)

My first complete build. I made the pcb layout in DIY Layout Creator. It is a standard AMZ Mosfet Booster but I can toggle between two gain setttings. It has no bypass but I put it after everything else in my signal chain and it stays on all the time. It justs gives a bit of a boost to the signal before it hits my Fender.  I finished it about 6 months ago, but just got around to etching the top now. It would have been much easier to before I drilled it.  The etch wasn't perfect,  but am not sure if I am going to properly paint the lettering in, I think the rough look might sit well with me.

Hello together,
really beautyfull builds at the last pages,
great etching-jobs, very nice designs and colors and a mojo-fuzzrite - WOW  :)

Here is my latest pedal i finished yesterday, my "Tube-Boost".
Its a "Banana-Boost" i build from the schematic at Tube-Town,
a simple Tube-Booster reduced to the minimum - just a switch and one pot...
It will get some lettering next time.

Greetings and happy christmas to all  ;)

I'm totally loving that one. Superb.  :icon_biggrin:

Same here.  Beautiful asymmetry.

Fantastic layout!  I have been interested in doing a tube project and this is very inspiring!

That amp looks great.  I've got another enclosure just about done that I'm putting a mini amp into with that tolex on it as well...  I quite like it.

Excellent work man! How'd you cut the hole for the Tube? How does it sound? is it fairly musical - a step up from a simple boosters out there?

Slade

Really creative layout from Magnus!!! Congrats!  :icon_biggrin:
I want to hear a demo from that booster too.

Here it is with a pedal steel http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/rousejeremy/audio/Steel.mp3.html

Good to see another pedal steel player on here.....what steel do you play?  I play a '73 Sho-Bud LDG

This is a Lapsteel I built but I can't play it ;D. Just happend to have a pup over and a friend with a wood workshop in his garage ;D

The only bad sounding stomp box is an unbuilt stomp box. ;-)

Hello,
QuoteExcellent work man!
Thank you :)

QuoteHow'd you cut the hole for the Tube?
I used a step-drill and a little rasp to remove the edges from the drilled holes,
then a little round-rasp for adding an 45°-edge above on the cut...

QuoteHow does it sound?
It's a linear boost with a little dirty tube-crunch,
sounds really nice - I'm shure everyone can use this sound pleased for something!

Quoteis it fairly musical - a step up from a simple boosters out there?
I would not say its the better one if you compare this tube-boost with a transistor-boost or something like that,
they are still different boost-designs with different advantages and disadvantages.

QuoteReally creative layout from Magnus!!! Congrats!  :icon_biggrin:
I want to hear a demo from that booster too.
Thank you :)
I don't have the equipment to record a good sounding clip of it,
but you can read above what it sounds like  ;)

btw: You make absolute great and clean etching-jobs!!!  :icon_eek:

Magnus, how did you put the tube socket? Is it glued or what?!
Great work, by the way...As all the other pedals I have seen from you!

@ Senor Fernando Ruz:

Please stop posting pictures of your (beautiful) pedals now. They make me feel lazy. And they make all my pedals feel depressed, insecure and inadequate. You have won the 'my pedals look the best' contest hands down. So please stop now, unless you have a particularly poor quality build you'd like to post just to cheer me up. That's all I have to say about that.  :icon_biggrin:
