Well, following Nikolay's steps (with his beautiful pedalboard) I'll risk myself posting after Thomeeque's fantastic pedal, I hope anybody see it.

It's the second version of my Flashback Delay Deluxe:

Hey, Helge,
Thank you for your words.
Those are really good etchings, I like the Grande Rock the most, the colours mix is great and the design remains classy. Really good, congrats ;)

Well that to funny. Iv worked on some guitars for customers where they tryed to fix them self's and when I get it. I end up pulling out lamp cords, speaker wire, telephone wire and a piece of coat hangers witch looks like a big birds nest of crap. Are pedals look dame good compared from what Iv seen.

Hopefully I'm not just missing something obvious, but what is the trick to etching that results in different colors other than black?  I originally thought that maybe they were just etched and then the dark areas carefully painted, but then I see enclosures like this one that are far too detailed to be hand painted like that...  is there a tutorial or something I missed?

there is a tutorial..courtesy of slade .

download it here

the etch is lower than the metal..so any colour/s can be painted all over the face of it...

then sanded with a flat block so only the excess/ raised paint is removed...leaving behind

the etched pattern/design...

great stuff.........rob.

Dragonfly was kind enough to share this with us: http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/DRAGONFLY-LAYOUTS_0/TUTORIALS/HOWTO/

And I agree they are INSANE.

Thanks for the link, I've actually used this process. But I am fairly certain that these were not done using the "Dragonfly" method. Those looked like they were done using some kind of dipping process, but i am wrong fairly often  ;D

I never posted a picture of the finished personal black version before of my gray spec 250 clone. One of the earlier ones you saw me holding was just a shell with no LED even. If I build any more I'm torn between which "color" I like better. I originally did my concept design graphics on computer based on this black look. But the aluminum version looks good too, probably because of the black/aluminum contrast of my etched top panel plate.

I'd like to try one next in polished aluminum for that chrome look!
