LOL - I don't really like that battleship gray color on a pedal, unless you give it a rugged military look with rivets and stuff or use the lid for the top with the screws showing. Maybe even using torx or hex screws. That might be cool. I'd prefer a more modern looking black or silver color scheme.

I never posted a picture of the finished personal black version before of my gray spec 250 clone. One of the earlier ones you saw me holding was just a shell with no LED even. If I build any more I'm torn between which "color" I like better. I originally did my concept design graphics on computer based on this black look. But the aluminum version looks good too, probably because of the black/aluminum contrast of my etched top panel plate.

I'd like to try one next in polished aluminum for that chrome look!
Candy colors would look really nice on top of the black and aluminium.

I think it looks TiTs  :icon_mrgreen:
Not as extravagant or difficult as alot of the builds here .
But its SO clean and pro looking that it has an imediate charm and appeal, you should be very, very proud of it Steve.
I dont think it could get better than black with the etched decal you use.

LOL Bryan, I had to look that phrase up in the urban dictionary! Thanks for the nice compliments. Technically a 250 is pretty basic, luckily for me as a beginner. But it is my favorite first choice classic pedal to have and play because of my musical influences, so I just had to build it. <3

From my concept artwork to physical reality. Pretty damn close except for the LED color!

Red was a better choice  :) I like those knobs, are they from Small Bear? Are they 1"dia or 3/4"?

Yes, from Small Bear and they are 1" diameter at the bottom skirt and the same size and taper shape as the old DOD knobs. Look there for Black Fluted Silver Center Lge, Dot Index SKU: 0808B around page 3 of the knob selections. I hate the newer fat Yellow 250 re-issue and YJM308 knobs. If you have these 2 pedals I'd recommend replacing the stock knobs with these. It will give them a more vintage look!

Very pretty piece of work. Fits well with the vintage style going on in the background of the pics  ;D

I stay amazed... neat and tasteful job on your DOD250 clone, Steve Mavronis - congratulations  !

Seeing all those finishing jobs stops me from thinking that it is impossible to do that with success for me... But all my painting trials were junk at the end, so I shifted to plexi (see my previous post).

But what is your secret, Steve ?

A+!
I apologize for my approximative english writing and understanding !

No, it's a jtm45 combo built by Martin Whelan, UK (MJW, formerly martamp) loaded with scumback h75 and h55.

I have two LP's, one with humbuckers and one with P90.
Really loving the P90 sound, even on the neck pickup it sounds amazing (which the Tokai LS80 humbuckers don't...)

Why thank you! There is no secret to how I got a clean finish. I designed by graphics on computer and printed to a transparency sheet for UV exposure onto some IDmark thin layered aluminum adhesive panels and etched it. I was restricted to one color - black - in my case. I was afraid to use decals and mess them up and I didn't want to directly etch the box. If there is anything else you want to know just ask.
