Hi folks

Me and a friend built a buzzbox as a gift for another friend:

No shielding whatsoever, but fine fuzz in a ... not a kitchen sink, but close!

That looks sweet. Does it have a lot of extra noise?

Excellent. Good eye !!!
I go looking a few times for enclosures, enclosure ideas like hub caps, other electrical box 'n stuff like that discarded.
Too Cool. Love the LoGo, The knob has adequate protection IMO.

Thanks people!
Heheh, yes it should have been a FenderBlender, I see that now!
It's a pretty "stock" version of the Buzz Box as seen on www.home-wrecker.com. The noise is not so bad, but I have only heard it on a small practice amp at low volume. But with the front pickup on a strat it does pick up static. Would have used shielding paint, but can only find it in spray form here, and it would be a pain to have to spray that thing without ruining it.

But we had a lot of fun making it, and almost couldn't give it away

you could've shielded it like you would with the electronics cavity of a guitar :)

Hi birt, you mean with shielding foil? I wonder, could you use ordinary tin foil and just glue it on? Anybody tried it? Difficult/messy?

you can use ordinary tin foil but you can't solder it so you need to make sure you use 1 piece and you have to make the connection to ground with a little screw or something

Noise...why worry about it. If it's bothersome then it's a worry...
You could always 'do the dano' and throw a ground plane under the board.
I did that on an Obsidian with an LPB sharing the unshielded room, and yupp, made a remarkable difference.
