Using dual photocouplers as single?

I have alot of dual optos, but no single.

I want to build the uglyface. The dual optos I have are CLM8200/2. Dark resistance 10meg.

I think if I just dont connect(cut off) the centre lead from the resistor side of the opto, then it will just be like a single opto with 10meg dark resistance.

Am I right? Is there any reason this could cause problems?
