What MN3005 based delay would you most like to see cloned?

Hi Folks

I have 2 MN3005 and 2 MN3101. Bought quite cheaply from Hongkongsuperseller on ebay.

Now, I am going to do a delay project clone based on these IC's.

I am not too picky which I do, aslong as its NOT the DMM. Between the supply and the complexity, no way!

What Delay would you most like to see a project for?

Is it better than the DM-2?

my vote goes for washburn ax-9 but simply because I cant find that much info on it, and I've got one that wont work!
Try a little tenderness.

My vote for the DM-2! Or maybe Ibanez AD-80 or AD-100. I have a schematic.
I thought it was of the AD-80, but looking at it now it seems to be the AD-100.

I know the community would prefer these chips to go to repairs due to their scarcity.

However, I have two and I might aswell do a project based on them.

I think it would be relatively easy to include a clone that would use the MN3205 and MN3102. In the same project file. Which people would probably use given that these chips are cheaper and easier to obtain.

I am leaning towards the DM-2 and it seems to be the sensible choice.

I am aware of the analog delay over at GGG, but I feel a pure clone of a DM-2 with a smaller board would be a good idea.

Any thoughts?

To be honest, the DM-2 is not that great in my opinion. Like the AD9 it sounds no better than the Rebote delay, and the delay time is seriously limited. I would definitely put my hand up for the Memory man, but I guess you're not to be swayed ;)

I've heard the kick of the 3005 is that it can be run at 12 volts. Reviews etc... talk about extra headroom? I hope you'll take advantage of that in whatever you build or you might as well be using a 3205.

Good luck and keep us posted!
