I bread boarded the Blues Breaker last night just for the heck of it and to my surprise I really like the sound of this.  I had the parts laying around and that's really the only reason I tried it.  I ended up perf boarding and boxing this up today.  The treble is pleasantly extreme if I want.  I don't have any other distortion effects that can get to this level of high end tone.  Most fuzz effect goes from around mid range to bass but not mid range to treble like the BB does.  I've read mixed reviews on this effect mostly disappointed builders but I'm not one of them.  This will be a unique distortion pedal in my fuzz build collection.

Im not disapointed neither.. u can get extreme range of different sounds.. from clean.. upto.. somethign that is distorted.. not muchh but anyway.. hell of a pedal.

Yea this is one of my favorite pedal's I have built.  It definately evens out the bassy tones of fuzz pedals and makes them sound amazing.  This pedal is always in use with me.

I like mine alot.
Built it mainly for fun, I have used it but, not like I've used the Fat Boosterd or OD250.....or the Brick...or the Folk Fuzz...etc  :icon_rolleyes:
Still, it does have it's place although if I'm not mistaken, I did some cap mods to mine but, that was a year and a half ago and I don't remember what I did to it!

I really like my OD250 also.  But I can tell the BB will be used quite a bit.  I backed off on the treble and distortion just to give the guitar a little edge.  WOW!!!  It has just the right amount.  Not too strong and you can still hear some grit.  I added some more gain with that knob and played some blues and I have to say it's just right for that.  Hence the name.  I highly reocommend building this one.

The Bluesbreaker is a bit of a "classic" IMO , should be up there alongside the TS-9 as one
of the "sounds" you MUST have :D :D
I've turned a few guitarists onto them, the large "Black" original '90's one of course  :icon_wink:

Ive  built one as my first project, but I think its wrong... hardly any gain. But Im using a SS marshall amp, and squier strat.
Any soundclips?

Heres sound clips.  I have a bunch but heres some:

Little Wing (BluesBreaker off), then Voodoo Child (BluesBreaker on): http://media.putfile.com/Little-Wing-to-Voodoo-Child

Black Dog main riffs with a bit of improvising at the end (BluesBreaker on): http://media.putfile.com/Black-Dog-80

Sweet Home Alabama (BluesBreaker on/off random switching): http://media.putfile.com/Sweet-Home-Alabama-66

Purple Haze (BluesBreaker on): http://media.putfile.com/Purple-Haze-37

Enter Sandman (Just the simplicities of it to show you how much the Marshall BluesBreaker I build can boost the overdrive of my amps overdrive a lot. When the blue LED is on, the BluesBreaker is on, when the LED is off, so is the BluesBreaker.): http://media.putfile.com/Enter-Sandman-32

Then, heres some with the ColorSound ToneBender MKII Pro and BluesBreaker:

1. Paranoid (Just a bit of it. Fuzz- Full, Volume- Full): http://media.putfile.com/Paranoid-15
2. Panama (This uses the ToneBender but also uses my Marshall BluesBreaker to give it a little bit of boost and more treble. At the end, you will hear me turn off the ToneBender and the BluesBreaker will be on for a second and you will hear that its only giving a little boost.): http://media.putfile.com/Panama-63
3. Yngwie Malmsteen Riff 1 (Coil tapping activated on the PRS. I think this is a quite nice Yngwie tone. Fuzz- 12:00, Volume- Full. Also uses BluesBreaker): http://media.putfile.com/Yngwie-Malmsteen-Riff-1
4. Yngwie Malmsteen Riff 2 (Coil tapping. Same as above): http://media.putfile.com/Yngwie-Malmsteen-Riff-2
5. Stairway To Heaven Solo (Ehhh... shut up  :-X http://media.putfile.com/Stairway-Solo
