Yes, they came that way.

I think I saw the type you're talking about but I'm not sure.

Added: After re-reading your post, I am wondering. Are you talking about 2 round rigid pins, or 2 flats lugs?

The pcb type has the pins coming from the base, but the lug type has the lugs going up.

I once used the pcb type but I still prefer the model with 2 wires. The solders don't break when you drop the pedal on the floor as it happens with the pcb type sometimes.

I just found a different type that looks nice.

Just a little update. I just noticed the part number on my battery holder.

The store where I go seems to keep this line of battery holders in stock.

The 9V holders are in OTHER menu, BH-9V(A,D or P)

Gilles, my 9v holders are very similar to the PCB ones, but not quite identical - the steel prongs are inside the case ratehr than outside. I don't know what they are intended to connec to, but soldering is out of the question!
