Onboard Preamp vs guitar master volume

This seems like a silly question, but didn't find any answer yet.
Logically I would wire

Pickups -> tone pot -> volume pot
Volume pot -> active/passive circuit selector switch -> guitar jack

This seems logical to me because I can use tone and volume controls in both active and passive setups and use the guitar volume to drive the booster.

Or are there important buffer/noise problems I overlooked?

 Only the hassle of repeatedly putting batteries in yer guitar. It gets old, even with one that has easy access. I've been there... (active basses, bah!)now I put my pedals on the floor.
Other than that, you got a good plan there.

What is exactly you are looking for/questioning ? i think you still can have your Tone and Master Volume with or w/out your Active circuit. Normaly it would goes : Pickup=>P/U Selector=>Active circuit=>MasterVol&Tone. You could insert your bypass switch for your Active circuit after the P/U selector and goes directly to guitar master volume.
