potentionmeter value substitue?
« on: March 05, 2007, 03:25:17 AM »
I want to build this http://www.runoffgroove.com/littlegem.html 1/2 amp, and I've bought all the components except the 25 ohm pot that i couldn't find.
I got other values (1K, 5K, 10K, 100K, 470K, 1M), so can I put a parallel resistor to it so it will act the same? (in a way i can't think of because the smallest value I got is 1K and the parallel resistor will be 25dot something and it doesn't exist...)
Is there any way to twick it so it will use a higher rating pot?
Can I just jumper it and change the Gain pot to a higher value? (so I'll only have a gain control to control the volume)

I've tried it and got the answers myself.
no volume control needed anyway, its doesn't get loud or something...
the gain pot doesn't control the overall volume.

I disliked this project for its raw tone.
