Where to find DIP8 sockets
« on: March 14, 2007, 10:31:12 PM »
I'm having trouble finding the DIP8 socket that the transistor plugs into for the beginner project.  No radioshacks in my area seem to even be able to order them, and I can't find them on SmallBear.  Any advice on where I should be looking?  Also, I could build it without the DIP8; that would just mean that I couldn't switch out the transistors easily, correct?  Thanks for the help.

Heres One Or This
I know my local RS store sells these. There not the greatest but in a pinch you can cut them
With side cutters and make it work.
Small Bear has These I'm sure this is more what you want.
Hope that helped and welcome to the forum

The place where I got my parts from didnt have 'DIP8' sockets either, but I found normal IC sockets which were the same thing.
i have to get my hands on some of your germs.  very soon.
Anywhere but here, that would seem odd...
