I've just built a DynaComp using the schem from GGG, and it works great, however, when I A/Bd with an original MXR, it sounds noticably darker. Is there possibly a cap value or something I could change out to give it more highs?

It maybe advantageous to you to double-check all the cap values in your build just to be safe.
This thing shouldn't be overly dark.

There are some threads here on how to brighten things up a bit.  Including adding a cap across the last resistor.  Search around a bit.

JD lists some errors in the PDF for the Ross version.

Might not help but...

(snipped from GGG)
Please Note:There are errors in the PDF file.

    * C2 should be value of 220pF, the parts list lists it as 0.0022uF (2200pF).
    * C11 should be value 0.001uF instead of 0.01uF
    * C12 should be 0.01uF instead of 0.1uf

# The values listed in the PDF file for C2 and C11 will cause a substantial loss in treble sounds. Trim pot is 2k value.
It's time to buy a gun. That's what I've been thinking.
Maybe I can afford one, if I do a little less drinking. - Fred Eaglesmith
