just joined thejoined the forum. wanted to say thanks to aron and co. for making my first project exceedingly easy. i'm excited to get into this stuff.
quick question, what transistors would make a good (or at least noticeably different sounding) replacement for the one you suggested? not to say it doesn't sound good as is, i would just like to experiment since i've got a socket in there anyway.

I like the metal can 2N2222 transistor in there. Otherwise go to Radio Shack or equivalent and get a bag of assorted small signal NPN transistors and try them.
