Ok, so I've just found some tubes in the attic !

Are any of these usable on stompboxes?

PCL805
PCF802
PCL86
DY802
PY88
PCH200

Thanks

These are all valves intended for various applications in a TV set. The only pedal I know of that claims to make use of these types of valve is the BUTT PROBE by METASONIX. Yes, BUTT PROBE. Google it. Good luck finding a schematic though.

The PCL86 on the other hand is designed for audio use and as such may be more readily employed in a stompbox. There`s a cute little amplifier here which might be useful.

I don't know what those useless tubes do, so i can't say why they're useless.
One possible use I can think of would be as some type of 'proximity sensor or theremin type...reciever...used to alter..some parametere'
"radio, tv reception use" caused me to think of that..just a thought.
The long road around for sure..
Nope, havent' read about dude' using TV tubes for any interesting project, nor read about any answers to similar questions other than basically 'no' as far as for pre-amp or distorter use.
Which isn't etched in stone for me [cause I don't know why], but enough for me to leave it at that, the 'uncharted dark space' left 'there', tempting because old tube TV's pop up on the curb often enough, thwarting when considering the HV, uncharted-ness, and general lack of a starting point.
Reciever recieves 'something' which causes it to change a setting, there are units available which do that, I don't know of ones that use TV tubes.
Seems like they could be used for...something...if not in the signal path.
IC alternatives which = lower voltage/fewer components/greater reliability make it easy to pass on attempting to re-assign TV tubes to duty.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Alright, direct link. Discretionary note, some foul language, not for minors etc.

that PCL86 is identical to an ECL86 except for a different heater voltage. its a nice tube with a triode and pentode in the same bottle. so you can also look for ECL86 schems.

the PCL805 is similar and can be used in the same way but is intended as a TV tube.

you can search here: http://tdsl.duncanamps.com/
for more than just a datasheet click on the link to national valve museum pages in the search results.
most of your tubes are not for audio use but nobody says you can't use em for audio. it might give special results
