Capacitor question
« on: July 19, 2007, 07:08:20 PM »
Hi I needed .1uF caps so while i was at the store I just reached into the box that said ".1uF" and grabbed a feew since they are used in a lot of circuits.  but when i got home, some say "103K" and some say "104K".  so my question is, what are the actual values of these capacitors.

thanks.

103 (so write down 10 plus 3 more zeroes = 10000, then move the decimal 6 places to the left) = .010000 = .01uF
104 (so write down 10 plus 4 more zeroes = 100000, then move the decimal 6 places to the left) = .100000 = .1uF
