Hi everybody

I just build a distortion stompbox (TS 808) from www.generalguitargadgets.com. i would like to make the tone control more efficient
The tone circuit is the 25k pot plus 220 ohms resistor and .22 uf between pin 5 and 6 of the IC.

Some have an hint?
Thanks in advance

I have an idea/possibility you may want to try.  First disconnect the current tone control  (pot, cap, and resistor).  Then go to Aron's simple mods page and incorporate the BMP tone control at the end of the circuit.  Right after the 10uf cap and omitt the last two resistors.  That tone control is a lot better, but may give a significant drop in volume.

You can also adjust the two caps in the BMP tone control to your liking.

You could also put it before the volume pot as well, and keep the output buffer the same.  Again you may get a significant drop in volume.

Just an idea.

I did the following. Use a log potentiometer and wire it backwards. Use a .33mF cap on the tone pot.
