Hi all,

sorry for the OT. I'm looking for some plans to build a stereo tube amp head. Maybe something like a stereo version of a 5E3-type amp? Or maybe someone has a better suggestion? Does anyone have some general advice on how I might splice say two 5E3 circuits together to make a stereo in + stereo out amp?

Thanks,

Andy.

consider also the option of a single preamplifer + stereo fx loop + two power amps.
I think that the old roland jazz chorus worked that way and also the new mashall mg (both amps are solid state).

Yep, good suggestion. I would have gone this route (I already have an excellent tube amp that could act as the mono preamp) but I want to use an instrument that is a stereo source in its own right, so this option is out. However, the instrument has it's own (solid state) preamp, so perhaps I could forget having a dedicated stereo tube preamp and just build the power amp as you suggest? Anybody know of some plans for one? I'm thinking maybe a stereo 6L6 power amp?
