I've got a catalinbread hyperpak that is housed in a hammond 1590A and I love how tiny these enclosures are. Catalinbread mount the PCB directly on the 3PDT to get maximum area for the PCB and clearance of the jacks, something I'm planning to emulate with perf for some pedals.

What I want to know is, who else here has used this tiny enclosure?
What did you use it for?
PICS?! (inc. gut shots please)

thanks  ;D

The smaller the better as far as I am concerned. BTW where did you get those power jacks?
Class A booster , Dod 250 , Jfet booster, Optical Tremolo, Little Gem 2,  mosfet boost, Super fuzz , ESP stand alone spring reverb red Llama omni-drive , splitter blender ,

NEVER use gorilla glue for guitar repairs! It's Titebond , Elmers, or Superglue

Smallbear has the external DC jacks. You can also get them at Fry's.

Where's the best place to get these?  (The enclosures, that is)

WooHoo, A 1590A thread!  By gosh its been awhile.
I have posted these a few  :icon_redface: times before.

The Alpha 16mm pots won't fit side-by-side in a 1590A.
In this photo you can see the box layout for the Dist+ with two 12mm Alpha pots fitting nicely side-by-side

And some search hits mostly from the pictures thread...

It's time to buy a gun. That's what I've been thinking.
Maybe I can afford one, if I do a little less drinking. - Fred Eaglesmith

MikeH: pedalpartsplus sells them

Pushtone: nice collection  ;D  I don't suppose I could convince you to share your 1590A template PDF, could I? Pllleeeeaaasse?

That's real nice!

Jack, I fitted one of your discrete buffers into the H-enclosure, that's even smaller, with in/out jacks, power-jack and a 3mm led. It's great!

I posted these before as well, but:

Tim Escobedo's Triple Fuzz, with red LEDs for the clipping diodes.  The pots were some little ~10mm ones I got out of an old busted boss pedal.

A clone of a boutique noisemaking fuzz I reverse engineered.  This one uses the tiny 9mm alpha pots that are mounted to the pcb.

The tiny green alpha pots that small bear sells now are the the ticket to getting 2 pots in a row using normal pedal construction, I believe he has some new little knobs as well.

The Catalinbread Ottava Magus is in a 1590A... I took the back off and it's a work of art.

I didn't see any batteries in any of those pics.  Are there some hidden under PC boards or are they just out of the question with this size of enclosure?

Very cool, inspiring stuff here. I had a buffer in one of these enclosures at one point, but I re-boxed it because the board was a little too big to mount properly and I just had it wedged in there.

Seeing all these awesome builds makes me want to give it another go.

Those are very cool! And I love the "battery-less" approach. I've been thinking about ditching the batteries ever since I got my OneSpot. This might be a good approach. Has anyone had any success with 3 knobs or more on one of these enclosures?

Doug

EDIT: Okay, I love this one of Marty's (from one of the above links):

What program did you use to get that drawing in the last picture? I've been looking for something to use. '

Nice work BTW!

You need a glade plug-in, in on a footswitch.  Kick on the big muff, then hit the air freshener pedal.
