10 uF 50V ?
« on: June 26, 2008, 05:25:30 PM »
Hi there. I've been lurking here the last week, and been busy on and off trying to build this pedal.
My first attempt failed, I'm on my second run now, and I found over 9000 mistakes in my previous attempt. :icon_wink:
BUT, now I've come across one on the new one:

I have in stock:
4 x "10uF 50V +-20 percent" Electrolytic Caps.

This page says:
1 x "10 uF 100v whatever" Electrolytic Cap.

And now I'm wondering what to do. Do i have to fix this by making an entire chain of resistors and caps before it, or do I simply need a new pack of 10 uF's?

Only 9000?

Use the caps you have, they`ll be fine.

Only 9V is being used to supply the pedal, so yeah, you could use any value that's over 9V, pretty much. To be on the safe side just pick a 16V or higher, but anything higher will work. It's just saying how much it can handle up to, not an exact value you have to be using.
